Noisette · A Night at Granny Badger's · story about sleeping at grandma's · first night away · story to fall asleep

A reassuring bedtime story for children about a first night away from home. Tonight is a big first for Noisette: she is sleeping far from the tree-house, all the way over at Granny Badger's cosy little burrow. A new bed, a new smell, new sounds in the dark, and Mama and Papa just a little bit missed. At first, everything feels strange and unfamiliar, and her heart gives a small, homesick squeeze.

But as the evening gently unfolds, between a warm cup of herbal tea and a story told softly beside the crackling stove, Noisette slowly discovers something comforting. You can feel good somewhere new. You can feel safe and snug and well looked after, even when the people you love most are far away for the night. Granny Badger tucks the blanket in just so, and the little burrow starts to feel a great deal kinder.

By the time she curls up under that warm blanket, the strange new room has started to feel almost familiar. The shadows on the wall are friendly now, the night sounds have softened, and the little ache of missing home has melted into a sleepy, contented warmth. A familiar bedtime ritual, even in an unfamiliar place, turns out to be just the thing she needed.

This is a comforting sleep story for first sleepovers and new beginnings, for nights at the grandparents' house, a friend's home, or settling into nursery. It helps a child meet that big feeling of being far from home with gentleness and trust. It quietly prepares a child for any night spent under a new and different roof.

Most of all, it whispers a reassuring truth to a little one: home is still there, the people you love are still thinking of you, and a new bed can become a cosy one too. A soft story to ease any night spent somewhere unfamiliar.

A screen-free sleep story for toddlers from age 2, lovely to share at bedtime or nap time. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft, without music, so your little one can close their eyes feeling safe. 🌙
