Highlights from the September 2022 meeting of our Biocidal Products Committee. Our guest is Erik van de Plassche, the Chair of the Committee.
We talk about:
Active substance approvals
- Properties that lead to meeting exclusion or substitution criteria, specifically persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic or very persistent and very bioaccumulative substances.
- Sulphur dioxide generated from sulphur by combustion for the food and feed area as well as Sulphur dioxide released from sodium metabisulphite for fibre, leather, rubber and polymerised material preservatives.
- Ozone generated from oxygen for several product-types.
- Mecetronium ethyl sulphate (MES) for human hygiene.
