Amina Agueznay was born in Casablanca (Morocco) in 1963.
She studied architecture and graduated in 1989. In the 1990s, she pursued several architectural projects in the United States, while at the same time taking a course in jewellery making, which marked her artistic work. She then returned to Morocco and her work moved towards a universe between design and art. She collaborated with artists to design jewellery and then, at the request of the Moroccan Ministry of Crafts, she created professionalization workshops for craftsmen.
She is committed to transmission. She integrates the techniques of the craftsmen in her artistic approach. She combines architectural/jewellery/silverwork techniques with the ancestral skills of Moroccan weavers in order to break down the barriers between art and craft. Â
